Jídlotéka
About project
Jídlotéka is a new project by chef Honza Malý, who after years in gastronomy decided to go his own way. It combines hands-on practice, advisory work and consulting in gastronomy with respect for the ingredients that stand at the beginning of every dish. His values are quality, locality and seasonality, along with the courage to give space to underrated ingredients that, with the right approach, gain a new and often unexpected dimension. Honza has a significant culinary career behind him: he worked as sous-chef at the Prague restaurant Eska (Michelin Bib Gourmand), helped build the restaurant Long Story Short from the ground up, and then, in 2023, took the role of head chef at the restaurant Perk in Šumperk, where it earned 11.5 points and 1 toque in the Gault & Millau ranking and a key for 1 star in the Michelin Guide.
The new visual identity for Jídlotéka is built on the idea of “a new breath for honest ingredients.” The graphic style combines cleanliness and craftsmanship with an emphasis on texture and detail, which refer to Honza’s culinary journey and to the creative process itself. The color palette is based on the natural tones of the ingredients: earthy shades, subtle contrasts and accents inspired by seasonal produce. The typography feels modern, yet it has character, just like Honza himself, who does not hide behind trends but creates by feel.
The result is a visual identity that feels honest, confident and authentic, just like the food behind the name Jídlotéka.
